Special Guest Jellybean Johnson (formerly of The Time) will be joining Martin Kember and his band THE UNIT! we will pay homage to PRINCE on Thursday June 6th, 2019 for the second annual “Celebration of Prince” festival in Henderson Mn, near the site of the “That Aint’ Lake Minnetonka” scene from the iconic movie “Purple Rain”. Martin has gained substantial national recognition in paying tribute to his musical idol using his silky falsetto inspired by the greatness of Prince and channeling Prince’s vocal prowess. The Unit Band features some of the greatest touring musicians in the country who play and tour with musical greats such as The Jacksons, Stevie Wonder, Lalah Hathaway and Judith Hill. Martin is a 27 year veteran of the music industry through his work as the former lead singer of 90’s Icons AZ-1 and Color Me Badd, as well as his own solo albums on the Warner Bro’s label. The Henderson performance will include renditions of many of Prince’s hits, album cuts and B-sides, with an emphasis on Princes sultry and beautiful ballads such as Insatiable, Adore, God & Scandalous. Martin will also perform some of his own well known original songs from the albums Cycles, One Shade Of Love, and The Essential Collection. Special guest vocalist will also join Martin which will be announced soon.

Jellybean Johnson was the drummer for legendary Minneapolis band THE TIME as well as Prince produced band THE FAMILY. Jellybean Johnson has a new single out now called “PUT SOME JELLY ON IT” !! He is a purple BEAST on the guitar too!!!

SAN FRANCISCO area iconic DJ ALPHONSO STARR will provide the DJ music and bring the Purple Funk to keep the party movin’ all night!

Seats are limited and will sell out fast.
