(June 13, 2019) Paisley Park in Chanhassen, Minnesota has announced new curated exhibits celebrating five decades in Prince’s remarkable career. Visitors will have the rare opportunity to see instruments, wardrobe pieces and personal items from Paisley Park’s vast archive – many on display for the first time ever – highlighting creative eras including For You, 1999, Purple Rain, Diamonds & Pearls, Musicology and ART OFFICIAL AGE. Iconic artifacts now on display include: Prince’s Gibson L6-S guitar used on the television show American Bandstand in 1980; Prince’s legendary purple 1999 trench coat; the fabled ‘Cloud’ suit Prince wore in the Raspberry Beret music video; Prince’s 2004 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction trophy; and Prince’s spiral-bound notebook containing initial ideas for the landmark film Purple Rain.

Fans are invited to attend a very special Paisley Park After Dark dance party on the evening of June 22nd – in celebration of the new Prince album Originals, set for wide release June 21st via The Prince Estate and Warner Records. The essential new 15-track album, featuring 14 previously unreleased recordings from Prince’s storied Vault, illuminates the vital, behind-the-scenes role Prince played in other artists’ careers – as a songwriter and producer for artists including The Time, Sheila E, Vanity 6, Apollonia 6, Jill Jones, The Family and more.  Attendees to the June 22nd After Dark will have the opportunity to experience a playback of songs from the Originalsalbum in Paisley Park’s Studio B control room – the very place in which Prince recorded and produced countless hits.

Beyond the walls of Paisley Park, the Minnesota Twins will again honor Prince with its third annual Prince Night game at Target Field on Friday June 14th.  The special themed event will include a gate giveaway of a purple Prince/Twins Jersey to the first 10,000 fans in attendance.  Fans who purchased a theme night package will also receive an exclusive Prince/Twins baseball cap featuring a metallic gold Love Symbol and paisley print under the visor.  Echoing Prince’s commitment to music excellence, the National Anthem will be performed by Sounds of Blackness, Minnesota’s own three-time Grammy award-winning group.  Prince’s younger brother Omarr Baker will be throwing the ceremonial first pitch and Prince’s original drummer and founding member of the Revolution, Bobby Z, will lead the crowd in “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”.

Since opening as a public museum in 2016, Paisley Park, the iconic home and creative sanctuary of Prince Rogers Nelson has welcomed a vast number of fans from around the world into his wholly unique 65,000 square-foot creative production complex – an environment entirely dedicated to celebrating the life, creative works, unique achievements and enduring legacy of Prince.  Fans interested in touring Paisley Park or attending the After Dark dance party are invited to purchase tickets now via the official Paisley Park website; tour tickets are available in four categories: General Admission, VIP, Ultimate Experience and Paisley Park After Dark.
